The RSS

I have to write about something that I don't use. It won't be easy but I will do my best.

The RSS are agregator of upgrades on the Internet. This could be textes, videos, prices, photos, podcasts or anythings. This requires a minimum of computering knowledge.
First you need to suscribes to the RSS you are interested in.
Second, you just use it !

Pro-social means democracy

What's democracy if not a living process ? This is an ideal, never reach, wich always need people to stand up for it.
This is the process of constant talking, debats and contradictions. This is the right and the possibility for everyone to talk on every subject.
This suppose an equal acces to a free and true information for every citizen.

The Internet can be usefull for it. It's still an space of freedom. This freedom can be used in order to plan terrorists attacks, as does many Al-Qaeda members, and can also been used to participate to improve your society as does the democrats...

So to conclude, I would like to give you some websites wich represent the good use of the liberty of speech on the Internet according to me.

ASI : the Internet version of an old french TV show on the analysis of the mediasphere.
Madmundo : a web 2.0 for video on the effects of globalisation

I have more in my mozilla links, not accessible now. I should use del.ic.ious ...

What about the P2P ?

Limewire, one of the best peer to peer (P2P) software is an exciting tool for me.

I download hundreds of songs, dozens of movies or tv shows for free.

Contradictorily I don’t care too much about the long term effect of pirating content on the Internet. It’s my only option to see as much video or music I want, it gave me the opportunity to improve my media culture, to share it with friends. I know it’s really bad for the media economy, but I thinks this is to the big groups to finds new ways to make there money. On that subject, I am in favour of a global licence for the internet, like the french “redevance”.

What’s more, in France today, from the last law passed on the national assembly, the legislation is so complex about it that you could argue that it’s not illegal, if someone put you on a trial. Anyway, I'd rather avoid it...

My favorite web-tool to improve my english : Itunes

With Itunes you can podcast any radio or web-radio or tv show you want, in many languages. So I listen the BBC radio news politics very often.

It’s free, automatic if you made the sets up, easy to use, you can take the downloaded podcasts on any mp3 player. In my opinion this is an excellent and democratic way to improve your English with the Internet.

You can also listen to English shows in streaming directly on various web sites : BBC Iplayer, Americanradiolinks...

This is specially usefull for those with an audio memory as me !
